Francis Ford-Coppola is one of Hollywood's most innovative, influential and renowned Directors. Coppola epitomized a group of filmmakers called the "Film Brats" directors such as Scorsese, De Palma, Spielberg and Lucas. They were known as the harbingers of "New Hollywood". Emerging in the early 1970's these Post Modern auteurs carried with them unconventional ideas that challenged contemporary film-making. Coppola in turn revitalized the crime genre creating The Godfather Trilogy and "The Conservationist". He employed typical crime fiction elements though, subverted through his own unique, highly personal interpretation. Thus this site displays the efforts of Coppola in crime fiction as a "Crime Composer", his contribution to the genre, analysis of his work and my own attempts at creating a fictional work akin to Coppola's.
